EPCC coordinators Carolyn James, Sally Kerby, and Stephanie McKeethen planned a Water Balloon Olympics, which was held on September 15. The object was to throw water balloons into the clothes basket without busting them. If the basket tipped and the balloons rolled out, they did not count. Employees paid $1.00 for three balloons. Psychiatric Attendant, Bryan Blackman, held the record of four out of nine balloons until Sarah Werkmeister from the Dietary Dept. took her turn. Sarah won the Olympics with seven of nine balloons in the basket. Paper Olympic medals were presented to the top three people. Sarah took the gold, Bryan took the silver, and Carla Kamman of Recreational Therapy took the bronze. As the gold medal winner, Sarah also chose the Vanderburgh Humane Society to receive the proceeds from this event. The children tossed the left over balloons into the basket and all of them received paper Olympic medals because they are all champions!
