Iron bars, trays of food, and jumpsuits are commonplace around Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) facilities, but Thursday, Sept. 11, a conference room at IDOC Central Office became a makeshift jail to raise money for the State Employees Community Campaign (SECC).
IDOC Internal Affairs staff “arrested” Executive Staff members and placed them in the makeshift jail at Central Office. In order to make bail, each Executive Staff member had to raise $250 for the SECC

“The generosity and excitement of IDOC employees increases with each SECC event, and I’m glad that these clever, fun events are not only bringing our employees together, but also helping raise money for worthy causes,” said Commissioner Edwin G. Buss.
All in all, the Executive Staff raised approximately $3,700 for this year’s SECC, with each member raising more than the required bail amount.

In addition, a Corn Hole Tournament was held at Central Office to raise money for the SECC. Each team pledged $10 or more to play.
